How to use TRANDOLAPRIL/VERAPAMIL EXTENDED-RELEASE - ORAL
HOW TO USE: Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking trandolapril/verapamil and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth with food as directed your doctor, usually once or twice daily. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Also, do not split the tablets unless they have a score line and your doctor or pharmacist tells you to do so. Swallow the whole or split tablet without crushing or chewing. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when this drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased. It may take up to several weeks before you get the full benefit of this medication. Tell your doctor if your condition does not get better or if it gets worse (your blood pressure readings remain high or increase).

Faq for TRANDOLAPRIL/VERAPAMIL EXTENDED-RELEASE - ORAL
Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines two medications, trandolapril and verapamil, to help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.
Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release works by relaxing the blood vessels and reducing the workload on the heart. Verapamil blocks calcium channels, which helps in the relaxation of blood vessels, while trandolapril inhibits the production of certain chemicals that narrow the blood vessels.
The common side effects of Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release may include constipation, dizziness, headache, nausea, cough, and tiredness. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is closer to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
It is generally recommended to avoid alcohol while taking Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release. Alcohol may increase the side effects of these medications, such as dizziness and drowsiness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for specific advice regarding alcohol consumption.
Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release should not be used during pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It is also not recommended during breastfeeding since both trandolapril and verapamil can pass into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider for alternative medications or if you have concerns.
Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release can interact with other medications, including but not limited to potassium-sparing diuretics, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, beta-blockers, certain antifungal drugs, and grapefruit juice. Inform your doctor about all the medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking to prevent any potential interactions.
The exact time it takes for Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release to start working may vary from person to person. However, some individuals may start experiencing a reduction in blood pressure within a few hours, while it may take several weeks for the full effects to be noticed.
No, you should not crush, split, or chew Trandolapril/Verapamil Extended-Release tablets. They are specifically designed to release the medication slowly over time. Breaking the tablets may interfere with the controlled release mechanism, affecting the effectiveness of the medication.
