Uses
USES: Ramucirumab is used alone or with another medication (such as paclitaxel) to treat certain cancers (stomach and gastroesophageal cancer). It may also be used with other medication(s) to treat lung, rectal, or colon cancer. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.
How to use RAMUCIRUMAB - INJECTION
HOW TO USE: This medication is given by slow injection (usually over 60 minutes) into a vein by a health care professional. It is given as directed by your doctor, usually every 2 weeks to treat stomach, colon, or rectal cancer and every 3 weeks to treat lung cancer. To decrease the risk of injection side effects, you doctor will also prescribe medications (such as antihistamines, acetaminophen) for you to receive before each injection. Carefully follow your doctor's instructions. The dosage is based on your medical condition, weight, and response to treatment. You should receive this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, mark your calendar to keep track of when to receive the next dose.

WARNING: This medication may cause serious (possibly fatal) bleeding. It may also rarely cause a hole to open in the stomach or intestines (gastrointestinal perforation). You should not receive this medication if you have any serious bleeding problems. Tell your doctor right away if you have symptoms of serious side effects, including prolonged bleeding from cuts or gums, persistent/frequent nosebleeds, pink/dark urine, unusual/easy bruising, bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent or severe stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, dizziness/fainting, unusual or persistent tiredness/weakness, severe headache.
