Faq for PREDNICARBATE CREAM - TOPICAL
Prednicarbate cream is a topical corticosteroid used to relieve itching, redness, swelling, and inflammation caused by various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and allergic reactions.
Prednicarbate cream works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. It suppresses the immune response and decreases swelling, itching, and redness in the affected area.
Clean and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of prednicarbate cream. Gently rub it into the skin until it is evenly distributed. Avoid applying it to the face, groin, or underarms unless directed by your doctor.
Common side effects of prednicarbate cream may include burning or stinging sensation, itching, dryness, or skin irritation at the application site. Serious side effects are rare but can include thinning of the skin, stretch marks, increased hair growth, and changes in skin color.
Prednicarbate cream can be used in children over the age of 2 years, but it should be used with caution and for a limited duration. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor.
Prednicarbate cream should be used for the shortest duration necessary to achieve symptom relief. It is generally recommended to use it for a maximum of 2-4 weeks. Prolonged or excessive use can lead to skin thinning and other side effects.
Prednicarbate cream is generally not recommended for use on the face unless specifically prescribed by your doctor. Facial skin is more sensitive and may be prone to side effects such as thinning or discoloration.
It is best to consult with your doctor before using prednicarbate cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. They can determine the potential risks and benefits for your specific situation.
No, prednicarbate cream is a prescription medication and is not available over the counter. You will need a prescription from your healthcare provider to obtain it.
