Faq for LIDOCAINE/TETRACAINE - TOPICAL
Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical is used to numb the skin before certain procedures or medical treatments such as needle insertion, minor surgeries, or laser treatments.
Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical works by temporarily blocking the nerves in the skin to provide pain relief or numbness.
Carefully follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider or read the product label. Generally, you should apply a thin layer of the cream or gel to the affected area and gently massage it in until it is fully absorbed.
Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical usually takes effect within 30 minutes after application. However, the onset of numbness may vary depending on the individual and the specific treatment.
It is generally not recommended to use Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical on broken or damaged skin unless directed by a healthcare professional. The cream or gel may be absorbed more rapidly, leading to potential side effects.
Common side effects may include temporary skin redness, mild burning or stinging sensation, itching, or swelling at the application site. Severe allergic reactions are rare but possible. Consult your doctor if you experience any concerning side effects.
It is advisable to consult with your doctor before using Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. The potential risks and benefits should be evaluated.
Store Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children.
Lidocaine/Tetracaine topical can be used on children, but with caution and under the supervision of a doctor. The recommended dosage and duration of use may be different for children compared to adults.
