Eprosartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels and increases blood pressure. By blocking the angiotensin II receptors, eprosartan helps to relax and widen the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure.

The common side effects of eprosartan may include dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, diarrhea, tiredness, or stomach pain. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, it is important to contact your doctor.

If you miss a dose of eprosartan, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Yes, eprosartan may interact with other medications, including certain diuretics, potassium supplements, lithium, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and other blood pressure medications. It is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist about all the medications you are currently taking to avoid any potential drug interactions.

The antihypertensive (blood pressure-lowering) effect of eprosartan may be seen within 2 weeks of starting the medication, but it may take up to 4 weeks for the full effect to be achieved. It is important to continue taking eprosartan as prescribed by your doctor even if you feel well.

In rare cases, eprosartan may cause serious allergic reactions, kidney problems, or liver problems. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing, changes in urine output, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

The recommended starting dose of eprosartan is usually 600 mg once daily. Your doctor may adjust the dosage based on your individual response and needs. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions and take the medication as directed.

It is important to inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking to avoid any potential drug interactions.

Eprosartan is not recommended during pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It is also not recommended while breastfeeding as it may pass into breast milk. It is important to discuss with your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before starting eprosartan.
