Faq for ENALAPRIL - ORAL
Enalapril oral is used for treating high blood pressure and heart failure.
Enalapril oral belongs to a class of medications called ACE inhibitors. It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart.
Common side effects of enalapril oral may include dizziness, headache, fatigue, cough, and upset stomach. However, it is important to contact a healthcare professional if you experience any severe side effects.
Enalapril oral is not recommended during pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It is important to discuss alternative medications with a healthcare professional if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Enalapril oral can interact with certain medications, including potassium-sparing diuretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and certain antidiabetic medications. It is important to inform your healthcare professional about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions.
The effects of enalapril oral may be seen within a few hours, but it may take several weeks of regular use to achieve the full benefits. It is important to continue taking the medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Enalapril oral can be used in children, but the dosage and administration should be determined by a pediatrician. It is not recommended for infants younger than one month old.
Enalapril oral can be used in elderly patients, but appropriate dosage adjustments may be necessary. Regular monitoring of kidney function and blood pressure is important in this population.
If you miss a dose of enalapril oral, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
It is not recommended to stop taking enalapril oral suddenly without consulting a healthcare professional. Abruptly stopping the medication may lead to a sudden increase in blood pressure.
