HOW TO USE: Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking brigatinib and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. Swallow the tablets whole. Do not crush or chew the tablets. The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, lab tests, and other medications you may be taking. Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products). Your doctor may direct you to start this medication at a lower dose for one week and may then increase your dose. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. If you vomit after taking a dose, do not take another dose at that time. Take your next dose on your usual dosing schedule. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase. Grapefruit can increase the chance of side effects with this medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Faq for BRIGATINIB - ORAL

Brigatinib is an oral medication used to treat certain types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that have a specific genetic mutation called ALK-positive.

Brigatinib works by blocking the activity of a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), which is involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells. By inhibiting this protein, Brigatinib helps slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells.

The common side effects of Brigatinib may include nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, difficulty breathing, cough, headache, elevated blood pressure, and muscle pain.

Brigatinib is taken orally once a day with or without food. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor and avoid missing any doses. Do not crush or chew the tablets.

Brigatinib may cause harm to an unborn baby, so it is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Adequate contraception should be used by both males and females during treatment with Brigatinib to prevent pregnancy.

Brigatinib may interact with certain medications, including strong CYP3A inhibitors and inducers, certain antacids, and antifungal medications. It is important to inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are currently taking to avoid potential interactions.

The duration of Brigatinib treatment will depend on your specific condition and how well you respond to the medication. Your doctor will determine the appropriate duration of treatment for you.

It is important to inform your healthcare provider about any pre-existing medical conditions, as well as any allergies you may have. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and liver function may be necessary during treatment with Brigatinib.

Drinking alcohol should be limited or avoided while taking Brigatinib, as it may increase the risk of certain side effects, such as liver problems and dizziness.
